The Park was open this week at the box office, and records fell as a result of dinosaurs rampaging through Isla Nublar.
Coming first in a runaway victory is Jurassic World (read our review), which scored an astonishing $204.6 million gross during its first three days. That is quite an improvement from the expectations analysts had for it, which fell in the $100+ million range. Colin Trevorrow’s blockbuster barely missed eclipsing the all-time opening weekend record, which was set by The Avengers in 2012 ($207.4 million), but it managed to beat out another superhero film in the record books.
